who is this guy?

A curious human being with a flair for the dramatic, absurd and the occasionally profound.

Classically trained concert pianist, part-time clown, full-time performer, and theater-maker. Creator of somewhat original works and somewhat spontaneous concepts.

Performed (played, sang, acted, screamed) in places like Moscow Conservatory, Kaliningrad Philarmonie, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, The Moscow International Performing Arts Center, the Invisible Dog Art Center, The Tank, The Sheen Center, McAninch Arts Center, the Fisher Center at Bard, Frederick Loewe Theater at NYU, and even a couple schools for refugee kids in Malaysia (which might've been the most magical gigs of all).

Worked with renowned musicians like Benjamin Hochman and Marcus Roberts, played under Oscar and Grammy-winner Tan Dun, studied under amazing artists both revered and delightfully terrifying, occasionally getting yelled at (lovingly) by professors in both English and Russian.

Collaborated with ensembles like the Russian National Orchestra, Kaliningrad Philharmonic, Moscow Youth Chamber Orchestra, State Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Yale Russian Chorus, Bard Conservatory Orchestra and others that made noise in all the right ways.

Directed some things — for instance Leonard Bernstein Centennial Celebrations in Russia, some concerts, a few devised pieces and plays, and a smattering of performance experiments that might still be echoing in someone's memories.

Composed some music. Created original performance works.

Especially interested in creating visual theatrical poetry through color and objects in combination with expressive and subtle movement, and, of course, music, music, music.

Music-directed several productions, from classical concert settings (U.S. Embassy in Russia's International Concert commemorating the anniversary of World War II) to musical theater, weirder hybrid creatures, and occasionally wrote performance concepts that actually became real and involved actual humans. (Still surprising.)

Currently involved in the development of a new show with Geoff Sobelle and a group of absolutely fantastic artists. Premieres Summer 2026!
